The terrain makes for an exciting, yet sometimes challenging round of golf, no matter what the conditions. Whether you are an experienced golfer or simply learning how to play, central Pennsylvania has a golf course for you!

The Central PA Golf Guide is designed to be a one-stop shop for everything dealing with golf in the central Pennsylvania region. Based out of State College, PA, we have played many of the courses we list and know all about what makes this part of Pennsylvania so great - both for golf and other outdoor adventures. On our site you will find information about local golf courses, as well as information about area golf instructors and practice facilities. We cover courses from the Mason-Dixon Line in the south to Interstate 80 and above. You can find a great golf course in larger cities such as Carlisle, Chambersburg, DuBois, Gettysburg, Johnstown, and State College as well as some of the smaller towns such as Philipsburg, Rockwood and Somerset. August is National Golf Month! It’s the perfect time to get out to the golf course and introduce a new friend or two to the wonderful game.

History

National Golf Month was founded in 1993 by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA). It was created to promote golf as an inclusive sport that is accessible to all genders and ages no matter their skill level. It stemmed from the charity event the PGA does each year, National Golf Day. National Golf Day fell on May 10 this year but events were impacted due to COVID-19.
